Data consolidation

Consolidate information from different sources into single solid database.

We do believe that success in business is deeply rooted in successful data management. Here and now, in the ever-changing world, you have to be able to deal with a multitude of information sources and making the best of what you have.

Yes, rational data management may contribute to your success, and here is how.

Automation of marketing department procedures

Challenge:

The marketing department of a large company needed to automate the collection of:

  • Data coming from contextual advertising systems in search engines like Google Ads or Bing Ads.
  • Data obtained by social media advertising systems such as Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn.
  • Data collected by the analytics system at the company’s website (Google Analytics).
  • Advertising performance management (promo materials at news websites).
  • Advertising campaign performance management (in the partner’s network).

Gathering information from a multitude of sources was only the first step. It was then required to find a unified way to integrate and present all collected data for further analysis.

Solution:

  • We started by creating a number of data collectors based on the provided API and virtual users (in cases when the API was not provided).
  • Then we initiated data collecting in the Microsoft Azure cloud.
  • After that we set up a web service to store all data in a unified form.
  • Finally, we built an API for exporting data into an analytics system.

Customer feedback:

«The amount of info the HandyData team had to deal with was huge but somehow they managed to put it all together. Now our marketing department receives advertising campaign data in a blink – and tech support isn’t billing us for that! Job well done, HandyData!»  – Thomas M., Florida, USA.

Creating a contact database for a B2B sales team

Challenge:

A start-up business (insurance and finance) required a contact list of companies in a given industry, all located in the USA and Canada.

If your company sells B2B products or services, you have certainly faced the challenge of acquiring a database listing the companies you target. We may assume that some companies in your country/industry do have such databases ready and waiting for you but what happens to your business if they don’t?

List of requirements:

  • Make a list of companies available at online business directories, such as Yelp, Yellow Pages, Facebook, Google Maps, LinkedIn, and Foursquare.
  • If any businesses are listed in several directories, such duplicates are to be removed from the database.
  • As new businesses spring up every day, the database is to be updated accordingly.
  • In cases when online business directories fail to display all the required information, such as phone numbers and emails, the database is to derive the information from corporate websites.
  • All the collected data must be updated once in three months.

Solution:

  • We started by creating a number of data collectors based on the provided API and virtual users in cases when the API was not provided.
  • Then we initiated data collecting in the Microsoft Azure cloud.
  • After that we set up a web service to store all data in a unified form.
  • Finally, we added the function that helps export the collected data into an Excel file to be later used by the sales department.

Customer feedback:

«Delighted to work with the pros. You beat the expectations! Thumbs up from the sales department on the tremendous job you’ve done!»  – Leah Z., Germany.
